The difference between various materials of heat shrink tube

There are many kinds of material classification, the more common material is PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PE(polyethylene), PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride), PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene), fluorine rubber, EPDM (EPDM), FEP (polyperfluorinated ethylene) often used in military standard products, silicone rubber can be used for food, medical treatment.

Material characteristics:

1. PVC (polyvinyl chloride) material is often used to make PVC heat shrink tube, its product has a thin wall thickness, the price is one of the cheapest heat shrink tube. Often used for battery insulation protection and mop wood bar packaging, the product color is more, more bright. The disadvantage is not environmental protection, foreign countries have been less used.

2. PE(polyethylene) material heat shrinkable tube is currently the most widely used, accounting for the largest proportion of products, because of better insulation, wear resistance, can manufacture more products. Representative products are: single wall heat shrinkable tube, high pressure female heat shrinkable tube. 3. PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) manufactured heat shrinkable tube can have the effect of high temperature resistance, can resist some solvents and oil. Temperature resistance grades are divided into 150℃ and 175℃, 150℃ for soft type, 175℃ for semi-hard type. The use of environment can also be divided into two types: industrial industry, medical industry. Standard products are black and transparent, black has a better gloss, transparent products are specially prepared, during the use of no yellow.

Industrial industry: Especially suitable for high temperature resistance, solvent resistance and high wear resistance environment.

Medical industry: The use of medical grade fluoropolymer preparation, through the ISO10993 medical biocompatibility test.

4. PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) Chinese name is also called Teflon, so the preparation of heat shrinkable tube is also called Teflon heat shrinkable tube, commonly known as plastic king resin, with high temperature resistance 260℃, resistance to most chemical solvents and wear resistance of high mechanical strength. Teflon heat-shrinkable tube standard products are generally only transparent, because of the particularity of the material, the products produced have a certain amount of white, not completely transparent.

5. The heat shrink tube prepared by fluorine rubber also has high temperature resistance, low temperature resistance can reach -65℃, and it is not brittle at low temperature. Excellent oil resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, can protect the harness, cable in the oil or high temperature environment. The finished product is only black and appears to be coated with oil. Feel like an eraser, there is a certain viscosity.

6. EPDM (EPDM) is processed by special technology. It has good physical and mechanical properties and excellent wear resistance. It is mainly used for insulation protection of electronic components of cable harness. It is widely used in electronics, automobile, decoration and lighting engineering. It can work at 150℃ for a long time, and can also be used at 180-200℃ for a short time or intermittently. The standard color is black.

7. FEP (polyperfluoroethylene) is the main outstanding performance is excellent transparency, can continue to work at high temperature 200℃. Can perfectly solve the need for high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, high transparency of the place.

8. Silicone heat shrinkable tube is made of silicone rubber. The products are divided into two kinds: flame retardant and non-flame retardant. Silicone heat shrinkable tube is often used in medical equipment, household appliances, aerospace, military, automobile, electronic parts, transformers, engines and other fields, which have certain requirements for product flexibility and temperature resistance. Can resist high temperature 200℃, the standard color is mainly iron red and gray.
