What are the causes of water inflow in cable accessories

Poor waterproof sealing of cable accessories will cause failure. Through incomplete statistics, there are obvious traces of water in the cable accessories accounting for 71%.  It can be seen that the waterproof sealing of cable accessories is extremely important.  So What are the causes of water inflow in cable accessories. Let's take a look:  

1. The cable body enters water, and the water or moisture penetrates into the cable accessories along the steel armor, copper shield and wire core of the cable.

Measures:
A. It is strictly forbidden to install cable accessories in the damp part of the cable;  Fill nitrogen to remove moisture or cut off the damp section.

B. After cable laying, use megohm meter to measure the inner and outer sheath to ensure that the insulation of the inner and outer sheath is qualified.

2. When installing cable accessories, waterproof sealing process is not done well.

Measures:
A. In the sealing process of the end part of the insulation main body of the joint, problems such as the lap size not meeting the requirements, the bond is not tight, and the winding sequence of the strip is wrong often occur, which leads to the moisture or moisture entering into the insulation main body from the end, causing the insulation of the joint to be damp.

B. Poor waterproof sealing at inner sheath end. C. End sealing. The terminal is mainly prone to damp at both ends. Generally, waterproof terminals are used at the upper end of the terminal and sealed with sealant or sealing tape.  And in the lower end and the sheath lap place with sealant or sealing tape for sealing, the cable at the three-fork branch with sealing sealant wrapped seal, with branch casing seal outside.
