Heat Shrinkable Cable Accessories

The materials used for the Heat Shrinkable Cable Accessories are generally composed of blends of polyethylene, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) and ethylene-propylene rubber. This kind of product mainly adopts stress tube to deal with the problem of electrical stress concentration. That is to use the parameter control method to alleviate the concentration of electric field stress. The main advantages are lightness, easy installation, good performance and low price.

Stress Control Tube is a kind of special Heat Shrinkable Tube with constant volume resistivity and large dielectric constant. The stress evacuation at the fault of cable insulation shield is evenly distributed along the Stress Control Tube by using electrical parameters. This technology can only be used in cable accessories of 35kV and below. The Stress Control Tube will heat up and not work reliably at high voltage levels.

Due to the small elasticity of the Heat Shrinkable Cable Accessories, there may be an air gap on the surface during the operation of thermal expansion and cold contraction, so the sealing technology is very important to prevent moisture intrusion.

The Cold Shrinkable Cable Accessories are usually made of silicone rubber or ethylene propylene rubber. The geometric structure method and parameter control method are generally used to deal with the electrical stress concentration problem of Cold Shrinkable Cable Accessories. The geometric structure method uses stress cone to relieve the concentrated distribution of electric field, which is better than the product of parameter control method.

Cold Shrinkable Cable Accessories have excellent material performance, can be installed without heating, good elasticity, so that the new can be greatly improved, compared with the Heat Shrinkable Cable Accessories, it is more convenient to install, only need to pull out the inner support strip in the right position to complete the installation.
